Hi all- I'll try to join this Tuesday evening. So... what article to bring? Searching for Human Rights in google news gives Syria, 'Occupy Wall Street', Mexico, and Falun Gong in Vietnam as current topics. I'll read a few of these articles and try to find something interesting. Look forward to it! -Boaz
Hi Boaz, I hope you find something you related to. Maybe one of these articles will make you want to look for something else. (That's kind of what happened to me.)
Watch out for one thing though: we're meeting on MONDAY!
Ok, thanks Hélène... I probably I would have tried for Tuesday if you didn't remind me. I think I'll read a bit about Syria and bring in something to discuss about that, since I know so little about that part of the world.
'Abuse involves behavior patterns that involve one or all of the following: Rejecting, Degrading, Terrorizing, Isolating, Corrupting, Exploiting, Denying Emotional Responsiveness.'

Interesting discussion, and good to see the articles here. Good points about how basic respect for other life is the basis of human rights. Here is wikipedia on human rights, and for the more recent framework, there is the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was written in 1948.
